The following is a role-playing activity that could be used to teach students about interviewing technique. Included is a list of bullet points that are stressed in the activity.

Objective – To teach students how to use the non-questions and the Rule of Three’s in order to develop a captivating and revealing interview. The assignment requires three people to participate. You have two people who develop questions and one person who will respond.

The journalist’s skill of asking strong questions to keep the conversation going is on display.
